Fourth Grade TheTeal Bears:
MY INTENTIONS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR:
The Teal Room will work to be a place
where students are encouraged to learn and grow in a safe
environment. We will work on developing self-awareness in each
student and the importance of a positive attitude. We will also work
together as a team to ensure each child has the best opportunity to
learn.
HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS & PROCEDURES:
Homework is generally given out on
Mondays and is due on Fridays. Periodically throughout the year
there will be daily assignments as well.
SPECIAL CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:
The Teal room students will learn to
play a musical instrument each year. For P.E. We will run each week
as well as participate in an activity. We will have sharing, current
events and cooking each week. Our students will develop their typing
skills and engage in our center activities. Each student will also
participate in community service projects.
TEACHER PROFILE- Jackie McGarry
I have been working at Rainbow of
Knowledge since 1997. I started out working part-time in the office
and eventually became the office manager. I began teaching in 2001.
I graduated from SJSU with a BA in History. I enjoy all sports, but
especially softball and soccer. I am also a big San Fransisco Giants
fan. I have two wonderful children who I enjoy spending time with.
We love going to the movies and out to eat.
THE BEARS:
We have chosen the bear as our mascot
because it teaches us the importance of introspection. It tells us
to pay attention to how we think, act, and interact. Bear teaches us
how to make choices from a position of power.
